Jonathan founded EKV in 2006 to work on the extension and refurbishment of small domestic properties.
Having spent his formative career working in both small private practice and for a large multi-national consultancy, gaining experience on a wide range of projects, he has overseen the company's development drawing on this diverse experience.
Whilst dedicating a significant proportion of his time to managerial duties, Jonathan remains heavily involved in the architectural concepts of all of the company's schemes.
Steve brings over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry as a Chartered Architectural Technologist, which provides the basis for his current role providing CDM2015 consultancy.
His work in this field has led to a recent LABC Building Excellence award and he was central to our successful bids for two BSF projects. Steve also heads up our VESTA Property Services brand, in addition to providing an important technical advisory role to our junior members of staff.
Simon is an award winning graduate Architectural Technologist who spent his early career at a large multi-national consultancy. He joined EKV in early 2008, bringing with him a wealth of technical and site experience which he uses in his relationships with contractors and in supervising other members of the team.
The majority of Simon's projects are in the education and leisure sectors, where his keen eye for detail has been invaluable to the successful delivery of many schemes up to £5m.
Architectural Technologist & Interior Designer
Andy achieved his first degree in 3D Design and embarked on a formative career in commercial interior design, before returning to studying to achieve an Architectural Technology degree in 2012.
He joined EKV in late summer of the same year, providing invaluable technical support and adding interior design skills to the team, further complementing our multi-disciplinary philosophy. Andy has also recently taken on some project management for our residential projects.
Campbell achieved a degree in Building Studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol, before going to Liverpool John Moore University to study CAD and Architecture. His career has encompassed work for architectural practices, precast concrete producers and curtain walling & glazing companies.
He joined the EKV design team in the summer of 2016, bringing a detailed technical knowledge across a range of sectors and with responsibility for junior staff members.
Chris studied for both his ARB/RIBA Part 1 and Part 2 qualifications at the University of Nottingham, before moving to Birmingham City University to complete his professional training as an architect.
Having spent time working at practices in both Curitiba, Brazil and Birmingham, Chris joined EKV in August 2016. With skills across all stages of design and construction, he will particularly focus on scheme feasibilities and interfacing with clients as projects move from concept to construction.
Building & Party Wall Surveyor
Joe joined the team in early 2011, initially for a year as part of his Planning and Property Development degree, which he successfully achieved in the summer of 2012.
Whilst initially work on a diverse range of projects to gain experience, Joe has subsequently settled into a role combining responsibilities under our VESTA Property Services brand with the design and delivery of education capital projects up to £50,000 and planning and development consultation.
Consultant Building Surveyor
With over 30 years’ experience, Gerry was coaxed from a self-imposed sabbatical in early 2011 to bring his wealth of knowledge to EKV.
His role is largely site based, delivering a range of surveying and project management tasks to our school client base, in addition to carrying out inspection visits to residential sites on which we provide CML Professional Consultant’s Certificate warranties. Gerry is also able to provide assistance on our larger CDM2015 commissions.
Consultant Project Manager
Duncan is an experienced construction professional, who joined EKV in the autumn of 2015 to enhance the company's provision of employer's agent, project management and building surveying services.
With an MSc in Property Asset Management and experience working for a contractor, housing association and in private practice, Duncan is a valuable addition to the team. He is especially experienced in the residential sector and further strengthens our multi-disciplinary approach.
Consultant Quantity Surveyor
David has over 50 years’ experience within the construction industry and following his retirement from full-time employment in late 2009, is currently employed as our consultant Quantity Surveyor.
He provides invaluable advice and guidance to both our clients and to other members of our in-house team, particularly in relation to cost and contract issues.
Finance & Office Manager
Jenny provides invaluable support to the technical staff, with responsibility for all of EKV’s financial transactions, including payroll, invoicing & purchasing and statutory returns; management of VESTA Property Services planned maintenance data and organising all aspects of day-to-day office administration.
Jenny's experience and eye for detail ensures that full focus is given by our designers and surveyors in delivering successful schemes for clients.
Undergraduate Building Surveyor
Andrew joined EKV in 2014 for his 'Year in Industry', as part of his Building Surveying course at Nottingham Trent University.
He works exclusively on our VESTA Property Services brand, across both reactive building maintenance and supporting the delivery of small education capital projects. Andrew also has a wealth of IT knowledge and is designing new systems to aid the efficiency of our project delivery.
Sam arrived in the summer of 2016 after completing the second year of an Architectural Technology degree at Birmingham City University.
He assists in the production of developed & technical design work, across all of the sectors we operate in, alongside studying for the final year of his course. Sam is also looking to develop his skills in producing scheme feasibilities and concept designs.
Ashley completed BTEC Level 3 qualifications in both Engineering and in Construction, between 2012 and 2015, before joining EKV in the autumn of 2015. With some experience gained in private practice alongside his studies, Ashley's ambition is to go to university in 2016 to become a fully qualified architect.
Ashley will be supporting the design team, working on a wide variety of schemes, in order to give him broad experience of the industry ahead of continuing his education.
Alex initially completed a week of work experience at EKV in 2013, before joining the team on a permanent basis in the early summer of 2014.
He has subsequently achieved an Advanced Apprenticeship in Professional Construction, from Derby College, which gave him a range of experience. In October 2016, Alex took up a role in the design team to support the delivery of a wide range of schemes.
